July 4th Ideas for the Family

Happy Friday friends! I apologize for being MIA the last couple weeks. Between having an awful stomach bug, multiple family birthdays, Father’s Day and a mini-vacation, I have been swamped! Life is finally back to normal and I can get back to my regular routine. With July 4th right around the corner, I wanted to put together a few of my favorites for celebrating this holiday! I have July 4th ideas for the whole family so everyone should enjoy something in this post.

July 4th Ideas for the Adults

A proper summer holiday is not complete without an alcoholic beverage. While I tend to see lots of wine and beer at summer parties, I prefer to make a little something fancy. Enter Sangria. This recipe makes the best sangria ever and is so easy. I promise you won’t regret trying this. Since I tend to wear lots of white in the summer, I often swap the red wine out for white and it’s just as delicious.

July 4th Ideas for the Kids

S’mores anyone? I prefer s’mores in the form of cupcakes. These definitely take a few steps to make, but kids (and even some adults) get so excited about them! I have a couple options for S’mores cupcake recipes here and here. I did a graham cracker cupcake with mine and used marshmallow cream in the icing. You could do them with a marshmallow filling and chocolate icing or vice versa. Any way you make them will be delicious though!

July 4th Ideas to Wear

Since most of my posts center around fashion, I couldn’t leave out some cute ideas on what to wear! If you have been following along, you may remember I did an outfit post on Memorial Day themed looks which would also work for the 4th of July. I also found two adorable striped dresses that are on sale. These dresses would be perfect for the rest of the summer as they could be used for casual day looks or even as a beach cover-ups! The dresses are here and here.

Our neighbors are buying a ton of fireworks and will be setting them off all night on our street. This is perfect since the city seems to want to set off fireworks after Andrew’s bedtime. I will definitely be enjoying all my July 4th ideas while watching fireworks from the driveway! I hope everyone has a safe and Happy 4th of July!

Thank you for stopping by!
